Weekly Review

The ritual that makes GTD actually work. Skip it for three weeks and your system rots.

Press 0 to open (as long as you're not typing in a field — single-key shortcuts are suppressed there).

What you see

Six collapsible sections, each showing the items that need your attention right now:

  1. Inbox — whatever hasn't been clarified yet
  2. Stalled Projects — active projects with no task activity in 7+ days
  3. Overdue Tasks — anything past due date
  4. Stale Next Actions — Next Actions untouched for 14+ days (are they really still "next"?)
  5. Someday / Maybe — with a scan for anything ready to promote to Active
  6. Completed Since Last Review — celebration and honesty about what you did

Per-item actions

Each task row has an inline action dropdown: Complete / Drop / Move to Next / Snooze to Someday. Click through quickly — don't overthink. If a task sat for 14 days untouched, you probably know what to do with it.

Mark Review Complete

Bottom button. Records the timestamp so the "Completed Since Last Review" section can track fresh wins the next time, and sets the cadence indicator on the header ("Last reviewed 3 days ago").

AI Weekly Review (Pro)

At the top of the Weekly Review you'll see a Generate with AI button if you're on Pro. Clicking it sends your current state (tasks, projects, notes from the last 7-14 days, areas) to Claude, which writes:

  • A 3-paragraph narrative summary — what you shipped, what drifted, a suggested focus for next week
  • Per-task suggestions — for stale/overdue/someday items, an action pill with rationale
  • Notes → Tasks extractions — commitments found in your recent notes that should become tasks
  • Area observations — patterns across your Areas of Focus

See AI Weekly Review for details, limits, and privacy.

Rhythm

Most people do this Friday afternoon. 20 minutes is plenty if you've been capturing during the week. Longer if you've been slack.

Some do it Monday morning instead — setting up the week. Either works. Consistency matters more than day-of-week.
